NordVPN Premium: Fast Encrypted Android VPN

NordVPN Premium is the unlocked Android build of Nord Security's VPN client, delivering the app's premium feature set without an active subscription prompt. The app routes Android traffic through encrypted tunnels using NordLynx, its WireGuard-based protocol, and OpenVPN, so browsing, streaming, and downloads stay private on public Wi-Fi. You choose from thousands of servers across 90-plus countries, use specialty nodes for P2P or obfuscation, and let auto-connect enable protection on unknown networks. If you are weighing this app against alternatives, VPN Proxy Speed offers a useful point of comparison. Split tunneling, a kill switch, and dark web monitoring round out everyday use on Android 9 and above.

Key Features

Frequently Asked Questions

Is NordVPN Premium free to use on Android?

The official NordVPN app installs free and gates most servers and features behind a paid plan. This unlocked build is a modified APK that ships with premium access already switched on, so the full server list and protection tools work without a recurring subscription. You install it manually as an APK rather than through Google Play, and updates do not arrive automatically.

What does the NordVPN Premium MOD APK unlock?

The unlocked build exposes the premium tier: the complete server network, NordLynx and OpenVPN protocols, Double VPN routes, specialty P2P and obfuscated servers, Threat Protection ad and tracker blocking, and dark web monitoring reports.

Which Android versions does the app support?

NordVPN supports Android 9 and above, and the same APK covers phones, tablets, and Android TV devices. Handsets stuck on Android 7 or 8 can still run Nord's separate sideloaded build, which receives legacy-only treatment.

How large is the APK download?

The current package is about 73 MB, so leave some free storage for installation, app cache, and the connection profiles the app generates. Nothing else about the file is unusual for a modern Android VPN client.

How many devices can one account protect?

NordVPN plans cover up to 10 devices connected at the same time, shared across Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, and Linux. Installing the APK on a phone, tablet, or TV counts the same as any other client on that account.

Does it work on Android TV?

Yes. Nord Security ships a dedicated Android TV client, and the phone APK also sideloads onto Android TV boxes and Nvidia Shield. Meshnet is available there too, so you can reach devices left on your home network while travelling.

Why does the app request VPN and notification permissions?

Android requires the VPN service permission for any app that creates a system-wide tunnel, so that request is standard. Notifications keep connection state and kill switch status visible, and you can quiet them from Android's own app notification settings if they get noisy.
